With her team of chefs and volunteers, Hilda stirred up a pot of jollof rice that weighed several tons, breaking the previous record and stamping Nigeria’s name firmly on the global food map.
The atmosphere was electric as thousands cheered her on, with live music, cultural displays and even spontaneous dance competitions lighting up the venue.
Food vendors and brands also seized the moment, turning the event into a festival of sorts.
Speaking after the record-breaking achievement, Hilda Baci expressed gratitude to her supporters and emphasized the cultural importance of jollof rice, describing it as “a dish that unites Africa and tells our story in the most flavorful way.”
Government officials, celebrities and international observers commended her resilience and creativity, with many describing the feat as not just personal but national. “Hilda has once again shown the world that Nigeria is not only about entertainment and sports—we also lead in culture and cuisine,” one dignitary noted.
