Officers in Charge (OICs) and nurses from Health District 3, covering Ibeju-Lekki, Epe and Eti-Osa, have visited the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, to express their gratitude for hosting a successful two-day retreat focused on Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation for pregnant women.

EpeInsights reports that the retreat, held on July 29th and 30th, was organized with the support of the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board and Family Health International (FHI).

It aimed at improving maternal health outcomes by educating healthcare workers on the importance of micronutrient supplements during pregnancy.

In his remarks, Hon. Olowa expressed delight that Ibeju-Lekki was chosen as the venue for such a critical health initiative. He praised the health workers for their dedication and reassured them of his unwavering support for the local healthcare system. “Our achievements in healthcare during my first term are just the beginning. We are committed to giving this sector even more attention and resources in my second term,” Olowa emphasized.

The delegation was led by Dr. Taiwo Sosanya, Medical Officer of Health for Ibeju-Lekki Local Government.

Other notable attendees included Dr. Olawumi Ajayi, representing FHI, and Mrs. Elizabeth Unoroh, Apex Nurse, alongside several frontline medical personnel.

The visit underlines the strong partnership between local government and healthcare professionals working tirelessly to improve health outcomes across Lagos State’s Health District 3.
