Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated His Royal Majesty, Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara, as the monarch marks the fifth anniversary of his ascension to the throne.
EpeInsights reports that the Governor in a goodwill message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, praised Oba Ogunsanwo for his exemplary leadership and his impact on the Ilara community and the wider Epe Division.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Lagos State, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Alara of Ilara, the Royal Family, and the entire Ilara community on this joyous occasion,” Sanwo-Olu said.
The Governor noted that in just five years, Oba Ogunsanwo has “led with wisdom, dignity and a genuine devotion to the welfare of his people,” adding that his reign has been marked by peace, unity and the preservation of Ilara’s rich traditions while also embracing development and progress.
He described the monarch’s ability to balance cultural heritage with modern aspirations as “both inspiring and instructive,” stressing that under Oba Ogunsanwo’s stewardship, Ilara has strengthened its position as an integral part of Lagos State’s growth story.
Sanwo-Olu prayed for the monarch’s continued wisdom, robust health, and greater accomplishments in the years ahead, expressing hope that his reign will bring lasting peace and prosperity to Ilara and its people.
Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, a respected traditional ruler in Lagos State, was installed as the Alara of Ilara in 2020. His fifth coronation anniversary has been described as a moment of reflection on his contributions to community development and cultural preservation within the Eredo Local Council Development Area and beyond.
