In celebration of the 2025 edition of the Epe Kayokayo Festival, the Lagos State Government is offering free home delivery of fresh fish to residents of selected Lagos communities.

EpeInsights reports that the initiative, organized through the Lagos Cultural Mission, is aimed at promoting the state’s cultural heritage while supporting local commerce.

Residents of Ajah, Lekki, and Victoria Island will be able to order a variety of freshly caught fish from the Epe Fish Market, with free delivery scheduled for Friday, July 25, 2025.

Orders will be accepted between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on the same day.

The program is spearheaded by Idris Aregbe, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture.

According to organizers, the initiative not only celebrates the Kayokayo Festival but also provides an opportunity for Lagosians to enjoy traditional seafood without visiting the market physically.

The available fish varieties include tilapia, barracuda, red and white snapper, white catfish, orange fish, wesafo, golden fish, mangala, shining nose fish, sona (also known as Eja Abo), and akokoniko.

Interested individuals are advised to place their orders by calling 0802 901 9111 or 0916 642 8236 within the designated timeframe.

The Epe Kayokayo Festival is an annual cultural celebration that honors the arrival of King Kosoko in Epe and showcases the traditions, history and culinary richness of the region.

This year’s fish delivery initiative adds a modern twist to the festival by making its culinary aspects accessible to more people across Lagos.
