Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has sounded a loud warning to motorists within its jurisdiction: desist from driving against traffic, or be prepared to face the full weight of the law.

EpeInsights reports that the Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, issued the stern directive while addressing the menace of one-way driving, which he described as a reckless act that endangers lives, disrupts traffic flow and threatens public safety.

“Driving against traffic is not only unlawful but also a dangerous act that can lead to avoidable accidents and the loss of innocent lives,” Hon. Akinloye stated.

“As a responsible government, we are committed to ensuring the safety of all road users. Anyone caught violating this directive will be promptly arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.”

The council chairman emphasized that the crackdown would be carried out in partnership with relevant law enforcement agencies, ensuring that offenders have no escape route.

He also called on commercial drivers, private car owners, and residents to obey traffic regulations, noting that road discipline is a collective duty.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to safety, orderliness, and sustainable development, Hon. Akinloye said the initiative aligns with the THEMES PLUS agenda of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, which prioritizes traffic management and safety in Lagos State.

Eredo LCDA urged all road users to drive responsibly, respect traffic rules and contribute to making the council area safer for everyone.
