The 2025 edition of Epe Teachers’ Week will begin on Wednesday, October 1st, with a symbolic Walk for Fitness and a novelty football match, both aimed at promoting unity, wellness, and camaraderie among teachers in the division.
EpeInsights reports that the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Epe Branch, led by its Chairman, Comrade Bello S.A., noted that the Walk for Fitness will commence at Epe Grammar School, where participants are expected to converge at 7:00am for light warm-up exercises before take-off at 7:20am.
The dress code for the event is a white top paired with black trousers.
The fitness walk will immediately be followed by the NUT Epe Branch Novelty Match at Sen. Abiru Stadium, Epe, scheduled for 8:45am.
The novelty game will feature both primary and secondary school teachers competing in a friendly football contest designed to celebrate teachers beyond the classroom through sportsmanship and unity.
Organizers explained that the activities represent the passion, resilience, and collective strength of the teaching profession, setting the tone for a week-long celebration in commemoration of the 2025 World Teachers’ Day.
“This is not just a game, it is a symbol of our resilience, unity, and excellence as we mark the 2025 World Teachers’ Day Celebration,” the union stated.
Teachers interested in participating in the novelty match are encouraged to register by submitting their name, school, grade level, and WhatsApp contact to the designated numbers provided by the NUT Epe Branch.
The Teachers’ Week activities are designed to recognize and honor the pivotal role of educators as nation-builders, while also providing opportunities for relaxation, bonding, and community celebration.
