The atmosphere in Epe was solemn yet filled with unity on Wednesday as top political figures and community members, gathered to pay their final respects to Mrs. Funmilola Rahmon, the beloved wife of the former Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Epe Local Government.
EpeInsights reports that the burial, conducted in accordance with Islamic rites, drew an impressive turnout from across political, community, and religious circles, a testament to the late Mrs. Rahmon’s life of kindness, humility and quiet service.
Leading the delegation was Hon. Tobun Abiodun, who, along with members of the Epe Local Government Executive Cabinet, Councilors, and APC Party Leadership, attended the burial to stand in solidarity with the bereaved family.
Observers described the turnout as a remarkable display of community support and political brotherhood, reflecting the collective grief shared by the Epe political family over the passing of one of their own.
In a statement issued by MATMedia, the group noted that Mrs. Rahmon’s passing represents a deep loss to the Epe political community and the Tobun Abiodun Dynasty, where she was regarded as a dedicated and supportive member.
“Today, with hearts bowed in grief but fully submitted to the will of Allah (SWT), we paid our last respects to Late Mrs. Funmilola Rahmon,” the statement read.
“We pray that Almighty Allah grants her soul eternal rest in Al-jannah Firdaus and gives her husband, Hon. Rahmon Saheed, and the entire family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.”
The service concluded with prayers for the repose of her soul and words of comfort for the bereaved family.
