In a bold stride toward social inclusion and economic empowerment, Epe Local Government, led by Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, is launching a transformative initiative to support 200 widows in the community.

EpeInsights reports that the landmark programme organised in partnership with the Shoulders of Support Charitable Organisation is scheduled for Thursday, 14th August 2025, at the Epe Local Government Secretariat. Proceedings will begin at 10:00 AM sharp.

This empowerment drive is more than a charitable act; it’s a deliberate investment in the future of women who have shown resilience in the face of life’s toughest challenges.

In addition to material resources, the scheme will offer sustainable assistance aimed at fostering self-reliance, dignity and long-term prosperity.

Speaking ahead of the event, Hon. (Princess) Animashaun emphasized the deeper significance of the initiative:

“Our widows are pillars of strength in our community. Today, we stand beside them, not in sympathy, but in solidarity, equipping them with the tools to thrive and flourish.”

The event is expected to draw community leaders, stakeholders and well-wishers in a collective show of support. It will stand as a testament to the administration’s guiding philosophy—“Built on Progress. Driven by Vision.”

With this groundbreaking programme, Epe Local Government reinforces its message that in this community, no one is left behind.Epe LGA Set to Empower 200 Widows with Groundbreaking Support Initiative
