The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, has joined the global community in marking this year’s International Youth Day, celebrating the young people of Epe as the heartbeat of the area’s progress and the custodians of its cultural heritage.
EpeInsights reports that the Chairman in her goodwill message described the youths as not only the leaders of tomorrow but also active agents of change today, whose brilliance, energy and resilience are shaping the community’s future.
Animashaun reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment where their aspirations can be nurtured and their talents fully expressed.
She highlighted various initiatives aimed at empowering young people, including skills acquisition programmes designed to provide practical knowledge, scholarships to improve access to quality education, and entrepreneurship support to encourage the growth of youth-led businesses.
According to her, new opportunities in technology and innovation were also being opened up to ensure no young person in Epe is left behind.
Reflecting on the theme of this year’s International Youth Day, the council boss stressed that with the right support, young people have the capacity to turn challenges into opportunities and transform ideas into lasting impact.
She pledged that her administration would continue to provide the resources, mentorship, and partnerships necessary to help them succeed, emphasising that their success is directly linked to Epe’s development.
Hon. Animashaun concluded by urging Epe’s youth to keep dreaming boldly, working diligently, and believing in their power to change the world, assuring them that the local government will remain steadfast in supporting their ambitions.
