As her first term officially came to a close, the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun, delivered a heartfelt message of gratitude and unity, acknowledging the collective efforts that shaped the past three years of her administration.
EpeInsights reports that Princess Animashaun, in her speech reflected on a journey marked by dedication, resilience and transformative leadership.
“Today marks the official conclusion of the first tenure of this administration, a journey defined by service, resilience and commitment to the growth and prosperity of Epe Local Government,” she stated.
“As we prepare to begin a new chapter on Monday, July 28, I find it both necessary and humbling to express my deepest appreciation to everyone who made this phase successful.”
The Chairman extended her appreciation to members of both the Executive and Legislative Council for their collaboration in delivering tangible progress. She also praised traditional rulers, religious leaders, community associations, and civil society groups for their unwavering support.
“To our royal fathers, Baales, Chiefs and Olorituns, your cultural stewardship and moral authority have been instrumental to the peace and stability in our communities,” she said.
She recognized the prayers and moral guidance from both Islamic and Christian religious bodies, as well as the active contributions of community development committees, market associations, artisans, and transport unions.
“Your participation at the grassroots has kept government closer to the people. You are the heartbeat of our local democracy,” she noted.
Special praise was also reserved for the women of Epe, whom she described as “the driving force of enterprise and resilience,” and for the youth, whom she called upon to embrace responsibility and unity over division.
“This is your land. Own it. Build it. Improve it. We cannot afford to be mere critics when our heritage and future are at stake,” she urged.
Addressing political rivalries and divisions, Princess Animashaun appealed for reconciliation, maturity and a shared vision of progress.
“Politics is transient, but Epe is permanent. Let unity override rivalry, and maturity override ego. Our legacy must be one of dignity and collaboration.”
She also acknowledged the efforts of the security agencies, including the Nigerian Police Force, Civil Defence, and local vigilante groups, for maintaining peace and security throughout her administration.
Looking ahead to her second term, which begins July 28, 2025, the Chairperson reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, transparency, and accelerated development.
“No group will be marginalized. Every ward will be represented. Every citizen will count. Together, let us build an Epe our children will be proud of — not just for our past, but for our vision of the future.”
