Residents of Oko-Abe, Ilege and Owu-Ikosi communities in Epe Federal Constituency have commended Hon. Wale Raji, Member of the House of Representatives, for facilitating the construction of three new secondary schools in the area.
EpeInsights reports that the schools, each consisting of 12 classrooms, come fully equipped with furniture, toilet facilities and solar-powered boreholes to provide sustainable water supply.
For many years, the beneficiary communities had no access to secondary school education, forcing children to travel long distances in pursuit of learning.
Community stakeholders described the development as a significant milestone that will expand access to education, improve literacy levels and create opportunities for children to acquire foundational knowledge and skills.
According to residents, the schools are expected to transform the social and economic landscape of the communities by fostering a culture of education, reducing school dropouts and empowering future generations.
The Epe People’s Opinion Poll Platform, in a statement signed by its coordinator, lauded the lawmaker’s consistent interventions in education and infrastructure, noting that his efforts have left an indelible mark on the constituency.
“Epe Division will never forget Hon. Raji for these innovations facilitated to our constituency during his tenure,” the group stated.
Hon. Raji’s initiative is widely seen as part of a broader drive to address the educational needs of underserved areas, reinforcing the role of education in breaking the cycle of poverty and driving community development.
