Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State’s Epe Division have called for a strong voter turnout ahead of the local government elections scheduled for July 12.

EpeInsights reports that the appeal was made during a large political rally held at the Epe Recreation Centre on Tuesday, July 1, where party faithful, political stakeholders, and community leaders gathered to show unified support for APC candidates contesting in Epe LGA, Eredo LCDA and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.

Speaking at the event, Alhaji Shakirudeen Akanni Seriki, popularly known as Bamu, who serves as the APC Apex Leader in the Epe Division, emphasized that the elections go beyond local politics.

“This is about showing that Epe stands firmly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. A strong turnout will send that message clearly,” he said.

Federal lawmaker Hon. Wale Raji praised the performance of the incumbent chairmen and urged voters to re-elect them based on their track records in infrastructure, education, and social services.

“Our chairmen have delivered. Let us reward that performance by voting them in again,” Raji said.

Hon. Abiodun Tobun, representing Epe Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, echoed the sentiment, describing Epe as “peaceful and progressive,” and encouraged residents to keep that momentum by voting en masse for the APC.

The party leaders reaffirmed their support for the re-election of current chairpersons—Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun (Epe LG), Hon. Monsuru Akinloye (Eredo LCDA), and Hon. Wale Anomo (Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA) highlighting their achievements in office and commitment to grassroots development.

They urged party supporters to avoid complacency and to view the local polls as an important step toward consolidating the APC’s political strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“We are dominant in Epe, but we must prove it at the ballot box,” said one party chieftain.

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) is set to oversee the election process on July 12 across all 57 local councils in the state.
