Education District III has emerged victorious in the just concluded Lagos State School Traffic Safety Advocacy Programme (LASTSAP) Essay and Road Project Competition, further cementing its reputation for academic excellence.
EpeInsights leant that the competition, which began on Thursday, July 10, 2025, attracted over 6,000 students from primary, junior, and senior secondary schools across the state.
Following several stages of rigorous assessment, 18 students made it to the final round. Among the finalists were representatives from Community Senior High School, Odo Ayandelu Onosa and Dolphin Junior High School, Lagos Island both schools under District III.
The final stage required participants to present a group road project, which formed a major part of the overall evaluation.
Community Senior High School, Odo Ayandelu Onosa, stood out by producing the overall best student, who also led their team to secure first place in the group project category.
The team received a ₦2 million cash prize, while the top-performing student was awarded an iPad.
Dolphin Junior High School finished second in the group category, earning a ₦1.5 million cash prize.
The award presentation ceremony took place on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Eko Hotels, with the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, presenting the prizes to the winners.
The event highlighted the state government’s continued commitment to promoting safety education and youth empowerment through strategic initiatives like LASTSAP.
