Education District II has once again proven its excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education as its students emerged top performers at the Lagos State 2025 World Robot Olympiad (WRO) Robotic Games.
EpeInsights gathered that the keenly contested event, which featured schools from across the state, saw students from District II display exceptional innovation, teamwork, and technical prowess in various categories, earning them multiple podium finishes.
Ojota Junior Grammar School led the charge in the Future Innovators Category, securing the first position with a groundbreaking project that impressed judges and participants alike. In the WRO Junior Category, Ojota Junior Grammar School and Eva Adelaja Girls Junior Model College claimed the second and third positions respectively.
Meanwhile, Eva Adelaja Girls Senior Model College clinched second place in the Senior Category, rounding off a strong performance for the District.
In recognition of their remarkable achievements, the students and their mentors were formally hosted at the Education District II Headquarters by the Supervising Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olusegun Osinaike.
Speaking during the reception, Mr. Osinaike commended the students for their outstanding performance, describing it as a testament to the District’s dedication to academic excellence and its strategic focus on 21st-century learning.
“This remarkable performance is a proud moment for all of us,” he said.
“It underscores our dedication to preparing students for the future through quality STEM education. Our teachers and students have shown great determination and skill, and we celebrate their well-deserved success.”
He also praised the teachers for their commitment to nurturing young talents and urged the students to remain focused and aim for even greater heights in national and international competitions.
Mr. Osinaike further acknowledged the continued support of the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, highlighting the administration’s visionary investments in education and technology as a catalyst for innovation across schools.
As the state continues to champion a tech-forward future, the success of Education District II at the 2025 WRO Robotic Games is a shining example of the growing potential among Lagos students to become global innovators and problem-solvers.
