Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr. Monsuru Akinloye, has called on Nigerians to embrace patriotism and unity as pillars of national development, while rallying support for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
EpeInsights reports that Akinloye made this appeal during the Democracy Day celebration held in Eredo-Epe on Thursday, emphasizing that national progress depends on citizens’ active participation in building a stable and prosperous democracy.
“Patriotism and unity remain the cornerstone of national development and democratic sustainability,” Akinloye said.
“We must not lose faith in our country. The Renewed Hope Agenda is a strategic blueprint for national transformation, and its success depends largely on the collective support of all Nigerians.”
He praised President Tinubu’s commitment to reviving the economy, strengthening national institutions and ensuring social justice, urging citizens to contribute positively by upholding the rule of law and fostering peaceful coexistence.
Akinloye highlighted his administration’s alignment with the federal government’s goals through the implementation of grassroots-focused initiatives.
These, he said, include road rehabilitation, youth empowerment programs, education support schemes, and health interventions designed to improve living standards within the council area.
He further called on traditional rulers, religious institutions, civil society organizations, and community leaders to intensify efforts in promoting unity, civic responsibility, and national consciousness, especially among the youth.
“Democracy Day is not just a public holiday, it is a solemn reminder of our shared responsibility to protect and nurture the gains of our democracy,” Akinloye added.
The chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and citizen engagement, stressing that democracy can only thrive when the people are informed, involved, and united in purpose.
