The Lagos State Government has sealed DONALD Restaurant, owned by nightlife mogul Pascal Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, following a case of environmental misconduct.
EpeInsights learnt that the restaurant located in Lekki Phase 1, was shut down after two staff members were caught illegally dumping refuse by the roadside in the early hours of Saturday, May 18, 2025.
The Managing Director of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Muyiwa Gbadegesin, revealed the incident on his official X (Twitter) handle.
He stated that the Lekki Estate Residents Association (LERA) had reported the illegal dumping after spotting a white Ford van with Abuja plates (GWA 136E) discharging waste along Durosimi-Etti Street.
The van was traced back to DONALD Restaurant on Road 14. The culprits were apprehended on the spot by LERA’s Chief Security Officer and detained. Reports indicate they attempted to bribe security with ₦100,000, a move that was promptly rejected.
LAWMA’s enforcement team arrived shortly after, sealed the premises, and took custody of the suspects for violating the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law, 2017.
Gbadegesin emphasized that the suspects will be prosecuted and reaffirmed LAWMA’s zero-tolerance approach to environmental offenses:
“A clean and livable city is everyone’s responsibility,” he said, calling on all residents and businesses to comply with waste management regulations.
