The Epe Recreation Centre was transformed into a hub of hope and healing on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, as the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), led by the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, held a Free Medical Outreach for residents of Epe Federal Constituency.
EpeInsights reports that the outreach, which forms part of activities lined up for the 25th National Women’s Conference, carried the theme “Healthy for All: Bridging Gaps, Building a Healthy Future.”
It delivered a wide range of vital services, from hypertension and diabetes checks to hepatitis B and C tests, tuberculosis screening, cervical and breast cancer screening, eye and dental care, malaria testing, skin clinic consultations, as well as health education and counseling.
Speaking on behalf of the host Chairmen, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, commended COWLSO for its landmark 25th anniversary and applauded the First Lady for her “consistent motherly care and unwavering commitment to the health and wellbeing of Lagosians.”
He was supported by the Vice Chairmen of Epe Local Government and Eredo LCDA, Hon. Sikiru Owolomoshe and Hon. Adesanya Lateef, who represented their respective Chairmen, Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun and Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye.
The event recorded a remarkable turnout, drawing stakeholders, community leaders, and political figures across the constituency. Among those in attendance were Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC) members, Alhaji Shakiru Akanni Seriki (BAMU) and Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, alongside other dignitaries who lauded the initiative.
For many residents, the medical outreach was more than just a free clinic—it was a lifeline, especially for those who often face barriers to accessing quality healthcare. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to COWLSO and the Lagos State Government for prioritizing their health and bridging critical gaps in medical access.
Beyond its immediate impact, the outreach also underscored COWLSO’s enduring role in complementing state-led healthcare interventions while championing its vision of healthier families and stronger communities across Lagos.
With the success recorded in Epe, the medical outreach set the tone for the forthcoming 25th National Women’s Conference, reinforcing the group’s legacy of service, compassion, and grassroots impact.
