The Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) has marked its 25th anniversary with a coordinated state-wide environmental clean-up, bringing Epe’s edition to life at the bustling Oluwo Fish Market, a hub famed for its rich fish trading tradition.

EpeInsights reports that wife of the Deputy Governor, Oluremi Hamzat led the Epe exercise representing Lagos First Lady and COWLSO Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu.

She commended Epe Local Government Chairperson, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, for her consistent leadership in sanitation efforts, describing Epe as “one of the cleanest local governments in Lagos State.”

The event brought together market leaders, community groups, sanitation officials, and youth organizations in a united effort to promote environmental consciousness.

Hon. Sikiru Adeniyi Owolomoshe, Epe Vice Chairman, and Hon. Tunde Odupe, Chief of Staff, represented the LG administration, pledging continued collaboration with COWLSO on grassroots development initiatives.

Chief (Mrs.) Giwa, Iya Oloja of Oluwo Market, praised the initiative, noting that the exercise would not only beautify the market but also encourage further infrastructural improvements.

Participants included the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Epe LG Sanitation Department, the Nigeria Police Force (Epe Command), PSOA Group, and Ileri-Oluwa Ladies.

As COWLSO celebrates 25 years of impactful community service, the Oluwo Market clean-up stands as a testament to the power of women-led initiatives in driving sustainable development and fostering civic pride.COWLSO Celebrates 25 Years with Clean-Up Drive at Epe’s Oluwo Fish Market
