The wave of congratulatory messages continues to pour in as Salami Idris Adebanjo, National Treasurer of the Colleges of Education Old Students Association in Nigeria (COEOSAN), has joined the growing number of well-wishers celebrating Dr. Nosiru Olajide Onibon on his recent elevation to the rank of Full Professor at Lagos State University (LASU).
In his tribute, Adebanjo described the promotion as “heartwarming and joyful,” calling it a significant milestone not only for Prof. Onibon but for the entire academic community, particularly alumni of the former Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED), where the new professor once served as Provost.
“I felicitate and congratulate you on this distinguished and wonderful appointment,” Adebanjo stated. “It is my prayer that God Almighty bless you richly and crown all your efforts with resounding success. You shall live long to reap the fruits of your labour.”
Adebanjo went further to recall Prof. Onibon’s influential role during his tenure as the National President of MOCPED Alumni Association, praising the academic icon for his unwavering support and mentorship.
“Your guidance and encouragement in my academic journey at MOCPED will remain etched in my memory and in the annals of my personal history,” he added. “I will forever be grateful to you, sir.”
Prof. Onibon, a respected Islamic scholar and immediate past Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), has been celebrated across academic, political, and grassroots communities since news of his promotion broke. His career spans decades of service in education, leadership, and youth development.
As accolades continue to pour in from across Lagos and beyond, Prof. Onibon’s elevation is widely regarded as both a personal achievement and a collective victory—especially for the Epe Division, which he hails from and continues to represent with dignity.
Adebanjo concluded his message with a note of optimism:
“Once again, congratulations, sir, on this feat achieved. We look forward to even greater heights ahead.”
