Tributes continue to pour in following the passing of His Royal Majesty Oba Shefiu Adewale Olatunji, the Olu Epe of Epe Kingdom.
EpeInsights reports that among the many tributes pouring in, the Bado Isale Descendants Forum has expressed profound sorrow, describing the monarch’s death as a “monumental loss” to the entire Epe community and Nigeria’s traditional institution.
In a condolence message signed by the Forum’s secretary, Kadri Idowu Rahmon, the late Oba was remembered as a man of rare integrity, a peace-loving leader who ruled with dignity and a heart for his people.
“The revered King was a great personality, community builder, peace maker, and a traditional ruler with a deep sense of dignity and integrity,” the statement read.
The Forum extended its heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the Olu Epe-in-Council, the Mogaji Ngeri of Epe Kingdom, all Mogajis, and every member of the Epe community.
“This is a colossal and irreparable loss not just to the royal family but to every indigene of Epe. Kabiyesi was a father to all wise, approachable and committed to the advancement of our community,” Rahmon added.
Throughout his reign, Oba Shefiu Olatunji was known for his dedication to peacebuilding, cultural preservation, and the strengthening of traditional values. His leadership style fostered unity, inspired trust, and revived pride in Epe’s rich heritage.
“His reign brought a renewed sense of pride to the traditional institution in Epe. We pray that Almighty Allah accepts his return, forgives him, and grants him Aljanah Firdaus,” the statement concluded.
The late monarch’s passing has united voices from across the region in shared grief and admiration. Community elders and residents continue to pay tribute to a man whose influence went far beyond the palace.
Chief Saheed Olowu, a respected elder, shared his thoughts on the monarch’s legacy.
“Kabiyesi was not just a ruler; he was a symbol of hope and cultural rebirth. His death is indeed painful, but we find solace in the exemplary life he lived.”
