Akinloye Begins Transformation of Odogbawojo with Road, Drainage, Streetlight Works

The Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) is set to begin another major infrastructural development project aimed at transforming Odogbawojo Community, under the visionary leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye.

According to the Council’s announcement, the project which officially commences on Monday, October 20, 2025 will involve the reconstruction of the Odogbawojo Road, the rehabilitation of the existing drainage system, and the installation of solar-powered streetlights within the area.

Spanning approximately 700 metres in length and 10 metres in width, the upgraded road will extend from Scratch Entrance off the Ijebu-Ode/Epe Expressway to Prince Seriki Aliu Junction in Ward K1.

The initiative reflects the administration’s unwavering commitment to improving road connectivity, enhancing safety, and driving sustainable urban development across the LCDA.

Speaking ahead of the project’s commencement, Hon. Akinloye appealed to residents and motorists to cooperate with the contractors during the construction period, stressing that short-term inconveniences are necessary for long-term community benefits.

“We understand that road construction can cause temporary disruptions, but these are sacrifices we must make for lasting comfort, safety and progress. Our goal is to deliver quality infrastructure that improves daily life and supports economic growth within our communities,” he stated.

The Odogbawojo infrastructure upgrade follows a growing list of developmental projects embarked upon by the Akinloye-led administration, reinforcing its drive to deliver on campaign promises through strategic investment in public works, education, healthcare and community welfare.

Residents of Odogbawojo have expressed optimism about the initiative, describing it as a long-awaited project that will ease movement, curb flooding, and enhance nighttime security once completed.

This latest effort underscores Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye’s commitment to purposeful governance, one that turns vision into visible action and ensures that all parts of Eredo LCDA continue to witness meaningful transformation.
