Agbowa Ikosi Hosts One of Lagos’ Largest Free Medical Outreach Initiatives

Agbowa Ikosi, a vibrant community in Lagos State, is set to make history as it hosts one of the biggest free medical outreach programmes ever held in the state.

The highly anticipated event, scheduled for Wednesday, November 5, 2025, will take place under the distinguished leadership of His Royal Majesty, Oba Owolabi Saheed Momson, the Abowa of Agbowa Ikosi.

The comprehensive outreach is designed to provide free, accessible healthcare services to residents of Agbowa Ikosi and neighbouring communities, reflecting a strong commitment to community health and well-being.

According to the organisers, the programme will feature a full range of medical services, including general consultations, health screenings, eye tests, dental checks, blood sugar and blood pressure assessments, as well as the distribution of free medications to participants.

The initiative is particularly focused on promoting preventive healthcare and encouraging early diagnosis of common health conditions.

A number of notable organisations have partnered to make the outreach possible, including:

  • General Hospital, Agbowa Ikosi, which will deploy a full medical team to the venue.
  • Diabetes Association of Nigeria (Lagos Chapter), focusing on awareness and management of diabetes.
  • Emzoer Pharmaceutical Company, NEMEL Pharmaceutical, and On Call-Plus Pharmaceutical, all providing essential medical supplies and drugs.
  • ECO–Africa College of Health, which will offer additional technical and volunteer support.

Media coverage of the event will be provided by TVC Television Station, ensuring that the outreach receives state-wide visibility and encourages similar health-focused initiatives in other communities.

In a statement, HRM Oba Owolabi Saheed Momson described the outreach as part of his vision to ensure that “no resident of Agbowa Ikosi is left behind in accessing quality healthcare.”

He emphasized the importance of health as the foundation of community development and expressed gratitude to all the partners supporting the initiative.

“This outreach is not just about medical checkups; it is about giving hope and ensuring our people live healthier, more productive lives,” the royal father said.

Residents have expressed excitement ahead of the programme, describing it as a rare opportunity to receive medical attention from qualified professionals without financial burden.

The event, which begins at 9:00 a.m., is expected to attract hundreds of participants from Agbowa Ikosi and surrounding towns, making it one of the most far-reaching community health programmes in Lagos State’s recent history.

With the support of medical experts, pharmaceutical partners, and traditional leadership, the Agbowa Ikosi Free Medical Outreach stands as a powerful example of how collaboration and community-driven initiatives can transform lives and strengthen public health in Nigeria.
