The Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has congratulated Nigerians on the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary, calling for unity, resilience and renewed commitment to national progress.
EpeInsights reports that in his goodwill message to constituents, Lagosians, and Nigerians across the globe, Hon. Akinloye described October 1st as a landmark in Nigeria’s history, symbolizing the nation’s freedom from colonial rule and its embrace of self-governance.
“On this day in 1960, our flag was raised high with hope, courage, and determination. Our heroes, both sung and unsung, stood firm and paid the ultimate price so that generations after them could live in liberty and chart their own destiny. Their sacrifices remain the foundation upon which we stand,” he said.
The Chairman noted that despite the challenges confronting the nation, Nigeria remains a land of abundant opportunities and immense potential. He urged citizens to see themselves as stakeholders in the task of building a greater nation.
“While challenges remain, our resilience as a people continues to propel us forward. Let us remember that the responsibility to build a stronger and greater Nigeria rests in our hands. Together, we can drive the change we desire and sail this nation to greater heights,” he added.
Hon. Akinloye further emphasized the need to honour the sacrifices of past heroes, from the slave trade resistance to the independence struggle, by rededicating to unity, peace, and selfless service.
“As we celebrate this historic Independence Day, may we not only honour our fallen heroes but also rededicate ourselves to unity, progress, and service to our fatherland,” he said.
He concluded with prayers for Nigeria, Lagos State, Epe Division, and Eredo LCDA, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to grassroots development and people-oriented governance.
