The Lagos State Youth Parliament has inaugurated its new leadership, with a familiar and inspiring face emerging as Deputy Speaker, a dedicated youth advocate and public servant whose journey has consistently exemplified service and leadership.
EpeInsights reports that the newly sworn-in Deputy Speaker, who hails from the Epe Division, brings a track record of grassroots mobilization and youth engagement.
From his early days as President of the Young Leaders Accord, a leadership forum for secondary school graduates to his tenure as General Secretary of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (Epe Branch), he has consistently prioritized service over position.
Currently serving in public office under the Most Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, who represents Lagos East in the Nigerian Senate, the Deputy Speaker’s political and civic engagements have focused on youth empowerment and community development.
In a congratulatory message, Ambassador Rasak Lateef Kayode, a member of the Lagos State Youth Ambassadors (Epe Division), praised the Deputy Speaker’s emergence as well-deserved and symbolic of a larger win for the youth of Lagos.
“Your leadership, dedication, and resilience continue to inspire us all. This is a win not just for you, but for the entire Epe Division and Lagos youths at large,” Amb. Rasak stated.
He further expressed confidence in the new Deputy Speaker’s ability to deliver a tenure marked by excellence and impact.
The Lagos State Youth Parliament, a platform created to deepen youth participation in governance, serves as a grooming ground for future political leaders. The Deputy Speaker’s emergence is expected to strengthen youth advocacy and representation, especially for the Epe Division and Lagos East Senatorial District.
As he assumes office, stakeholders across the state have expressed optimism that his experience and passion will translate into tangible outcomes for young people in Lagos.
