The event, which was filled with heartfelt applause and nostalgia, underscored the State Government’s appreciation for the enduring contributions of its workforce men and women who have spent the better part of their lives in service to Lagos and its people.

Declaring the ceremony open, the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, described the Long Service Award as a vital gesture of gratitude from the government to its workforce. He noted that the recognition was not only a reward for the past but also a motivation for greater commitment in the years ahead.

“This honour reflects the State’s appreciation of your loyalty, diligence, and excellence in service. You are the backbone of the Lagos State Public Service, a model for others across the country. I urge you not to rest on your laurels but to keep raising the bar,” Agoro said.

He emphasised that the Sanwo-Olu administration remains committed to creating a conducive working environment and promoting staff welfare.

According to him, the government will continue to prioritise initiatives that build capacity, enhance productivity, and ensure that public servants remain competitive in a fast-evolving world.

Agoro also encouraged the awardees to invest in personal development by embracing the latest trends in information and communication technology (ICT), noting that digital literacy has become essential to effective governance in the 21st century.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Mrs. Sunkanmi Oyegbola, congratulated the honourees, describing their commitment as a testament to the resilience and integrity of the Lagos State workforce.

She reaffirmed the government’s resolve to continually support the welfare and professional growth of public servants.

She pledged the continued loyalty and dedication of the awardees to the vision of a Greater Lagos Rising.

“We are proud to have served this great State for three decades and more. This recognition renews our zeal to keep contributing meaningfully to the Lagos dream,” she stated.
